We Tested 100 Organic Baby pouches for Heavy Metals and Pesticides — Here’s What We Found
Parents trust baby food brands to provide their children with safe and nutritious meals, but recent testing of 100 organic baby pouch products reveals that many contain heavy metals and pesticide residues. The presence of contaminants like lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury can have long-term health effects on developing brains.
Our independent investigation tested a variety of baby foods—including purees, cereals, puffs, and snacks — from major brands like Gerber, Earth's Best, Happy Baby, and Beech-Nut. The results were both reassuring and alarming:
- 65% of products tested completely clean—no detectable heavy metals or pesticide residues.
- 35% contained either heavy metals or pesticides, raising concerns about long-term exposure.
- 9% contained two or more heavy metals, raising concerns about long-term exposure.
- 8% tested positive for Glyphoate, calling in to question the 'organic' label.
